New friends

I planned an activity with my colleagues to visit an NGO which help people with learning disabilities group together last week. It was only for 5 hours, but I am glad that we had the chance to go together.

Our new friends were not much different from us, though they need to be guided to excel. Most importantly I am wishing that our society can accept them as they are. It’s not that difficult to judge people from first impression, but once you get to know them, you will be able see their perspective of life.

As weird as they go, I feel not much different. I am weird too. I have my social skills issues too. But I know how to keep them to myself – whilst our new friends cannot. They might like this for the rest of their life, it only left for the normal people to sympathise with them, give them the same chance we give to our children.
